InVEST - Carbon Storage and Sequestration

Models

The Carbon Storage and Sequestration model is a spatially explicit model that considers that the carbon storage in a plot of land (pixel) depends on four carbon pools: aboveground biomass, underground biomass, soil, and dead organic matter. In this sense, the model quantifies these storages depending on the storage capacities per land cover that the pixel occupies. The figure presents the diagram of the information requirements that the model needs, the processes it considers and the results it generates.
