Obtaining this factor using the first of the two proposed methodologies is based on the comparison of the water rates of the different countries, with respect to the reference rates, of the United States of America. The source of these data is The International Benchmarking Network for Water and Sanitation Utilities (IBNET), a product of the alliance between Global Water Intelligence (GWI) and the World Bank (World Bank). This Database reports information from 214 countries, 2 575 companies and 15 829 tariffs (World Bank, 2020) [1]

Methodology “B”:

For this methodology, the World Bank's ICP database was used with the cost relationship of labor, energy and materials of the different countries of the world in relation to the same indicators for the United States of America. Based on the application of the cost functions of the different processes of a treatment plant for a flow rate of 100L / s and the breakdown of the prices of labor, materials and energy, the partial factors were weighted for each of them. obtained from each process in relation to the sum of the aforementioned factors.
