Cost Function for mechanical flocculator
The original cost function (A1) for slow mixing (Flocculation) is as follows:
This has as variable (x) the total volume of the flocculator in ft3 (cubic feet). To convert it into a function of flow rate (Q), the following relationship was used:
Where Tr is the residence time, that is, the time the water is in the process. For the flocculator a usual time of 40 min was taken, so the replacement of the variable was done as follows:
Additional modifications to this function correspond to the correction of costs per year, with the CCI ENR index of 9547 of the year 2013, to obtain A3. Then, part B2 related to the elasticity index is added. This is done in the same way as explained in the Cost Functions Wiki.
