Cost Function for Raw Water Transmission Canal
The transmission canal is a structure that generally requires little maintenance, where the main activity is to remove the sediments that are usually deposited at the bottom of it. In this sense, the main cost is associated with labor. Knowing this, for the construction of the cost function, it was considered that:
- All sediments that are retained in a year by the transmission canal (Wsed_C) are removed.
- On average, the cost of the m3 of sediment removed by an operator is equal to $ 4.7 USD.
- The density of the sediment to be removed is equal to 2.65 Ton / m3.
Starting from these two considerations, the cost function of the channel is given by:
