Grit Chamber
The Grit Chambers are located close to the water catchment point. A grit trap is implemented so that, by slowing the velocity of the water, large particles fall to the bottom of the trap to be removed under their own weight. Removing sand is critical to treatment, as these large particles can affect the rapid mixing and flocculation processes, and can damage internal pump components.
